What Makes Up A Resource Report:
A resource report is probably one of the simplest digital products that you can create. It is a downloadable document that contains all the resources that you utilize in your business. I come from an internet marketing background so my resource report contains many links to pieces of software that help me in my business, useful websites, free marketing training sites, marketing books, etc. If you are in a different niche, then incorporate the tools that help you do your job more efficiently. There are 3 main components that comprise this digital information product...
1. The Report Document. This is a basic document file where you will place all of the content in your resource report. It can be MS Word document if you're using a PC. You can also use iwork pages which is a piece of software offered for Mac users. I am currently using MS Word. If you have a Mac, you can get MS Office for Mac if you wish.
2. Your Links And Resources. This is going to make up the main bulk of your resource report. I usually format the content with category headings and then simply list the links to the resources that fall into a particular category. For example, if I had a category called SEO, then I would list all the resources that I use for SEO purposes. I always include live links whenever possible. However, sometimes I may put the name and Skype address or phone number to a contact that I use for outsourcing a particular task.
3. Ecover Graphic. This will be a pretty straight forward ecover graphic that will be on the first page of your report. There are a few reasons to include a professionally done ecover. First, when you promote your resource report, you'll need to have a visual representation of your product. Otherwise, you'll have a really tough time selling it. Next, an ecover adds to your credibility as an expert in your niche. I really nice ecover speaks volumes on your behalf. Lastly, the ecover promotes your brand. You can include a logo for your business on it, or maybe a great head shot of you. Unless you have a strong background in graphic design I suggest outsourcing your ecover graphic creation. Fiverr.com has many people who can do this for only five dollars per ecover. This is very cheap and gets the job done quickly.
